SOBER suits and sensible shoes were cast aside by a Wiltshire law firm as staff dug deep into their wardrobes for anything pink.

Goughs Solicitors, which has offices in Melksham, Chippenham, Trowbridge, Calne and Corsham, raised more than £100 on Wear it Pink day on Friday.

Administrative staff and solicitors took part in the campaign for Breast Cancer Research, donating £2 each and donning discreet or daring garments including hats, ties, shirts and socks.

Laura Burrill, marketing manager, said: "Usually it's just the girls who wear something pink, but I was delighted the men got involved, especially some of our senior solicitors. Even my Mini car with its pink roof got in on the act."


AN auction to raise £2,000 for a children's charity is being organised by a Wiltshire law firm.

Goughs Solicitors, which is marking its 125th anniversary this year with a series of fundraising events, is preparing to hold the auction in aid of the Children's Society, also celebrating 125 years. The charity helps disadvantaged children throughout Britain.

Items for the auction to be held at Hartham Park in Corsham in November, have already been donated by businesses, including signed sports memorabilia and fine dining at top class local venues.

Laura Burrill, marketing manager at Goughs said: "Our aim is to raise £2,000 on the evening.

"We hope to have more than 50 items for the auction and would welcome support from the business community in achieving our goal."

As part of the fundraising efforts Mrs Burrill and husband Steven have signed up to trek part of the Great Wall of China in April next year.
